EROSION CONTROL

Erosion control measures that reduce or prevent the flow of sediment into nearby waterways are required during construction for nearly all land disturbance (not including cultivation of farmland).  For small projects (less than one acre of disturbed land) these plans will be relatively simple and inexpensive to implement.  In general the review of these simple plans is fairly quick.

Larger projects (over one acre of disturbed land) will require submission of plans to the County Conservation District to obtain an NPDES permit.  The plans and supporting documents required for an NPDES permit are more detailed and the review times are extended.  The typical time to obtain an NPDES permit is 90-120 days from the time design work begins.

I have a great deal of experience preparing both large and small erosion control plans.  One of the first things I will do for you is to determine whether or not an NPDES permit will be required for your project.  If it is required, I will provide a detailed timeline and a breakdown of not only your design costs but also the estimated fees that will be required for review by the municipality and/or the Conservation District.  I will work with any and all regulatory agencies to obtain approvals as quickly as possible.
